Jadi, apakah alasan yang membuat mereka bertanding? Sebenarnya mereka tidak bertanding secara langsung. Pertama kali, pertandingan dimulai dari 49 Days-The Greatest Love selama 6 episode setelah sebelumnya 49 Days bertanding dengan Royal Family (MBC). Di antara ketiga drama yang tayang pada slot Rabu-Kamis (juga dengan Romance Town, KBS2), 49 Days keluar sebagai jawara.

Setelah 49 Days menghabiskan episodenya yang ke-20, City Hunter datang dan menggantikannya. Melawan Romance Town-City Hunter ternyata bukan hal sulit untuk The Greatest Love. Tepat pada episode 7, The Greatest Love naik menuju peringkat 1 diikuti oleh City Hunter yang merupakan drama action-romance dan Romance Town yang dibintangi oleh Sung Yu-ri dan Jeong Kyeo-woon.

Selama 10 episode, City Hunter terus mengikuti The Greatest Love sehingga jarak antara mereka tidak jauh lagi (The Greatest Love peringkat 1 dan City Hunter peringkat 3). Setelah The Greatest Love tamat, City Hunter langsung memimpin dengan rating hampir 20%. Bahkan, pada episode pertengahan, City Hunter telah mampu melebihi 20%, angka yang cukup sulit untuk diraih. Dan pada 28 Juli 2011, yaitu pada episode terakhirnya, City Hunter berada di peringkat 1 dengan The Princess Man di nomor 2 dan Heartstrings nomor ketiga.

Begitulah, secara tidak langsung, ketiga drama tersebut telah kejar-kejaran dalam meraih posisi 1. Ternyata tidak mudah untuk mencapai pucak teratas. Namun, ketiga drama tersebut telah membuktikan bahwa mereka mampu untuk memimpin dan mampu memberikan drama terbaik sepanjang 2011 ini.
